  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the melted butter, egg, salt, and half of the flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the remaining flour until the dough comes together.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball.
  7. Place the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let them rise again for about 45-60 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Brush the risen dough balls with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
  10. Bake the buns for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
