Ingredients:
- 1 pound of beef steak (sirloin or ribeye works best)
- 2 tablespoons of blackening seasonings (paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper)
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions:
- Start by seasoning the beef steak with the blackening seasonings. Make sure to coat the steak evenly on both sides.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it's smoking hot.
- Add the vegetable oil to the skillet and carefully place the seasoned steak in the pan.
- Cook the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred level of doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
