Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm water and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter.
  3. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 - 1.5 hours, until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the dough in a greased loaf pan, cover it, and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
